The Facility
Grandweld’s Dubai Maritime City facility provides the scale and control required for large yacht construction in steel and aluminium. More than 55,000 sqm of facilities include seven shipbuilding bays, 13,500 sqm of covered production space, 20,000 sqm for outfitting and assembly, 31 docking berths and lifting capacity up to 6,000 tonnes. The yard can accommodate vessels up to 130 metres, backed by over 1,000 specialists across engineering, fabrication and project management.
Under One Roof
Core engineering and production functions are managed within the yard, from steel and aluminium fabrication to CNC, piping and mechanical integration. Where specialist yacht expertise is required, Grandweld works with selected international and UAE-based partners while retaining control of the build, quality and delivery.
Engineering and Production Control
Grandweld has developed an integrated digital shipbuilding process over more than 20 years, connecting engineering, project management, production and procurement through its ERP systems. Advanced 3D production modelling is completed before construction, with drawings, CNC files and production data shared digitally across the yard. Components are tracked for traceability and subject to documented quality control throughout production. CADMATIC is a key part within Grandweld’s engineering workflow.
Grandweld already carries key finishing and technical capabilities in-house, including joinery and interior outfitting, electrical and automation, air-conditioning, blasting and painting. Grandweld Yachts builds on this industrial base by integrating yacht-specific systems and specialist expertise within the same controlled build process.
